FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
March 16th, 2008: Maryland; PAKPAC condemns the terrorist attack on Luna Caprese Italian
Restaurant in Islamabad, Pakistan. According to the reports foreign nationals were the direct target of this terrorist attack.
Innocent lives were taken and some of US citizens were injured. Our prayers are with the victims and their families. This attack
should make it further clear that the people of Pakistan are under siege by the extremist groups who are willing to do the most
inhumane things to show their hatred towards others.
While we denounce this attack, we also ask that the time has come that the policy makers and law enforcement
agencies in Pakistan to realize that their have been series of failures on their part in assessing, preventing and managing these
disasters. We feel that there is an acute need that capacity building, restructuring, and reform of the Pakistan’s law enforcement
agencies needs to take place. This capability building needs to occur and Pakistan needs to seek help from any other Country
including United States with experience in dealing with terrorism and people need to unite to mange and eliminate this evil from
the society.
