Washington DC: March 26th, 2008: The Pakistani-American Public Affairs Committee had a meeting with Federal Bureau of Investigation and US Department of Justice representatives to discuss and raise the concern about the security background checks and the name check delays that are impacting our community.

This concern was raised in a meeting in Washington DC to highlight some of the challenges and also highlight the recommendations made by US Ombudsman’s Office to help resolve this issue. This meeting was another step in educating the administration about the challenges faced by the community in dealing with the extremely slow background check and security clearance process.
