Irfan Malik, Board of
Director, Organization of
Pakistani Entrepreneurs,
Executive Director, National
Association of Pakistani
Americans, joins PAKPAC as
Board of Director.
Mr. Malik, has 22 years
of
engineering
design
and
business
development
experience
in
Utilities,
Defense
&
Telecommunication
Industries.
He has
worked
in
various
capacities
at the
following
companies;
Ciena;
Alcatel;
and
Boeing.
He has
been the
founding
Member
of
Telecommunication
Equipment
Manufacturer
- CIENA;
company
grew in
six
years
from 10
to
nearly
4000
employees;
annual
revenue
grew
from
zero to
billion
dollars;
resulting
in
tremendous
downstream
business
and job
growth
in
Maryland.
He has
been
responsible
for
various
groups
at Ciena,
including
business
development;
construction
and
startup
of
manufacturing
units;
Mr.
Malik,
has been
well
known
and
respected
amongst
many
legislators
and has
been
critical
in
helping
organize
the
community
in the
Maryland
area.
Mr.
Malik,
is
passionate
about
civil
rights
of the
Pakistani
Americans
and all
other
Americans
and has
been
working
strengthening
the
voice of
the
community.
Mr.
Malik
mentioned
his
views
that
PAKPAC
has the
potential
to be
the
leading
and the
most
effective
advocacy
voice of
Pakistani
American
community
and he
feels
that all
concerned
and
active
Pakistani
American
community
members
need to
unite
and make
a
difference
for the
future
