WHY PAKPAC

Any organization working on political activity and is a part of political action committee needs to understands that politics is a process.  Whenever someone works for a process, they cannot claim success at any point because the process continues on and needs to be strengthened further.

The Pakistani-American Public Affairs Committee since its existence from 1989 has been an active voice of the Pakistani-American community with respect to the challenges that are faced by the Pakistani-American community in United States but also important issues with respect to Pakistan and United States relationship.

PAKPAC DEVELOPS ONE OF THE LARGEST DATABASE AND OUTREACH SYSTEMS

Pakistani American Public Affairs Committee has the database of over two hundred and fifty thousand Pakistani American registered voter households with about two voters in each household and total of approximately four individuals residing in each household. Thus the outreach systems can allow us to reach over 500,000 registered voters and over 1 million people. The database allows the committee to reach out to the local town and district levels and  allow a focused approach to reach out to the voters in specific districts for specific important races.

PAKPAC has also developed automated outreach call mechanisms as well to make calls for out reach to help educate the community members on which issues and candidates to support.

The large voter turnout in primaries of the community members helps us predict that the Presidential elections will have one of the largest voter turnout in the Pakistani American community history. The community remains engaged but not fully decided between the two remaining Democratic candidates.

In times when literally each vote counts, we have to make sure that our vote IS COUNTED

PAKPAC PRESS RELEASES
The Pakistani American Public Affairs Committee welcomes the revised policy memo by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.
The important change is with the I-485/green card application, where if the application is otherwise approvable, will be approved if the FBI name check procedure has been pending for more than 180 days. Unfortunately this same provision does not yet apply to the citizenship applications. PAKPAC is extremely concerned about the challenges the community has been feeling with the very long delay in background check, security clearances and the name check procedures which have taken multiple months and years of delay in people getting their legal immigration process completed.
PAKPAC supports legal immigration systems but urges that the process must be made fair with same processes and duration of the procedures for people of all faiths, backgrounds and countries of origin.
PAKPAC has created a subcommittee to deal with the name check and security clearance procedure. We welcome other organizations to join hands with us to help deal with one of the most important challenges felt by our and other immigrant communities in United States.
