It is clear that our community feels that people in Pakistan do need the help, and they agree that a Bill is needed, they are
disappointed as well regarding some aspects of the bill.
PAKPAC realizes that the President Obama is required to sign The Bill on Friday October 16th, 2009.

We have been in the process of reaching out to President Obama and his Administration to ensure that Signing Statement language is
added from the President of the United States that America respects Pakistan’s sovereignty with a request to the Congress to
revisit the controversial clauses at the first opportunity.

PAKPAC Asks the Pakistani American Community, Pakistani American Media to serve as a guide to the people of Pakistan and the
Pakistani media to play a constructive and meaningful role at this time. We also ask the various political groups and political
parties to not use this challenge as a political tool to score points at the potential cost of losing education, health care,
infrastructure build up opportunities for the people of Pakistan. We must all unite to work on effectively using opportunities to
stabilize Pakistan and the region and play our constructive roles in overcoming the Trust Deficit that exists between United States
and Pakistan.
