I really appreciated the initial excellent coverage that was provided by your TV network of the earthquake disaster in Pakistan.

I am sure that you are well aware that this is probably one of the biggest disasters that have occurred in the last decade. Monday October 17th, 2005, the top UN official Andrew Macleod has said that the Pakistan Earthquake 2005 is a much bigger challenge than the 2004 tsunami. The latest death toll is in the range of over 54,000 people. It is believed that up to 4.5 million people are at the risk of extinction because of the cold wave and persistent rainfall. These people are without healthcare, food, water and shelter. Many are dying daily from cold weather.

I strongly feel that it is the responsibility of your network to give appropriate coverage to this story based on the significance and the human toll. This region is one of the most important geo-political regions and the US involvement there in the humanitarian efforts will lead to very important good will and political dividends, let alone the fact that it is part of the American value system to help people in need wherever and whenever it is needed. I urge you to do whatever it takes to let the American people know what is happening, so they may subsequently contribute their compassion towards the people of the region.

Please share this one of the most important and significant story at this time with all American people. I am looking forward to a better and complete coverage.

Sincerely,
