7: US Government:

Advocacy work to be done by all. Every single community member must participate in this responsibility.

A) Letter to President George W. Bush:

Make Phone calls: White House hot line: (202) 456-1414 OR 202-456-1111

Make following Comments:

1) The Pakistani Americans, the American Muslims, the people of Pakistan, thank President and First Lady Mrs. Laura Bush and the American people for the generosity shown by them with the $ 50 Million AID package for the people of Pakistan. The helicopters sent by the US government have been instrumental in te search and rescue work and has saved hundreds of lives which could not have been saved otherwise.

2) As we learn more about this disaster it is clear that its impact is far more than was ever imagined. The people and the resources of Pakistan are truly overwhelmed at this time.

3) We request the President to provide more help in the following ways:
-Providing more helicopters as the large number of people in need of immediate help could still not be reached.
-Providing immediate support with tents and shelter set up for millions who are stranded in winter months.
-The AID package may have to increase to $100 Million as the ground realitis dictate more support
-US to urge world bank and UN to increase their support as well.
