BACKGROUND
An earthquake believed to be
the most intense to hit the region in the last century jolted the
northern parts of Pakistan on Saturday, October 8th, 2005. The epicenter
for the magnitude 7.6 quake was about 60 miles northeast of Islamabad,
Pakistan.
As the tragic events unfold,
it is believed that scores of people have died, and hundreds are
severely hurt and are homeless. PAKPAC will keep updating this site
to keep everyone updated on the situation and damage assessment.
