Saturday 8th, October 2005
This is what you can do to help
..

BACKGROUND

Needs Assessment & Coordination of Needs

RESPONSE TO THIS TRAGEDY

This disaster is already considered to be a level III disaster which is of such a magnitude that local and regional assets are overwhelmed, requiring statewide, federal assistance and international assistance.
While the local volunteers and authorities work on the immediate response of search and rescue for this challenge, PAKPAC urges the Americans of Pakistani heritage and all Americans to help in this disaster in the following way.

Unity of Purpose & Reduction of Duplication

This is again the time for the community to unite. We have recently seen how the community was able to respond effectively for the Katrina disaster. PAKPAC members and other Pakistani American community members were involved with hands on support and jobs were created across the United States for the victims of Katrina. It is time for this community to again rise to this challenge and work together.

Community Fund Raising Strategy

Please plan to be generous and give charity and money to support the victims generously. Use credible US based entities for your charities. It is important to have local fund raising iftaar events to help collect funds for the victims support. Please work with all other US based charities and encourage them to join in to provide support for this challenge. A the national level ( In US), we must use a credible coordinated way of providing support.
