Expectations from a PAKPAC Chapter

  • All members of the chapter should be be either US citizens or Green card holders (As per the FEC requirements). For the number of members needed to start a chapter, please see link

  • A complete database of the membership in the state needs to maintained. This includes the names of the Congressional District Coordinators, and other regular members.

  • The Chapter will be responsible to make sure that the membership dues have been paid and the members are eligible to be PAC members.

  • Election OR selection of Chapter officers: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer.

  • Every chapter needs to create a network of "Congressional District Coordinators" for each of the Congressional Districts of the state.

  • The "Congressional District Coordinators" can also be the officers of the PAKPAC chapter:
    The "Congressional District Coordinators" would be responsible to be the liaisons for specific congressional offices. These individuals would help with some of the following activities with the offices of the Members of the Congress:


    A) Initiate contact with the office

    B) Develop a first name bases understanding with the different key individuals in the member of congresses office.

    C) During election year, help PAKPAC identify appropriate candidates to be supported, based on issue based reasons. .

    D) Help be the POC for the local Fund Raiser for the Member of Congress.

    E) Develop a network within their own congressional district of Pakistani Americans which would allow them in a timely fashion have 10 to 15 letters and /or telephone calls made at critical times as instructed or suggested by PAKPAC Alerts.
  • Initiate Voter Registration drives in your area.

  • If you read, hear, or see local media coverage that is biased, inaccurate,
    or impacts negatively on Pakistan and U.S. relations or Pakistani Americans, please bring it to our attention and also actively participate in an educated response.

  • Develop following specific databases based on member qualities:
    A) Writers
    B) Youth interested in internship and pursuing careers in public service.

  • Develop Local Alliances:
    Develop alliances with other organizations who are willing to collaborate and help on the issues of our concerns: Example:
    A) American Muslim Organizations
    B) NAACP
    C) ACLU
    D) NAPALC
    E) SALDEF
    F) Others depending on strategic and moral interests.
    G) Other local Pakistani American Associations in the region
